12/29/2023 0 Comments Hotarubi no mori e ending explainedThe story unfolds at a breezy pace, while the interaction between the two characters plus their growing intimacy for each other is sensibly handled & finely portrayed. Directed by Takahiro Omori, the film addresses first love, memories & passage of time in an apt manner, and is as exquisitely animated as it is beautifully told. Short, sweet & sentimental, To the Forest of Firefly Lights (Hotarubi no Mori e) is a simple yet moving coming-of-age story following a young child who is rescued by a spirit after she gets lost in an enchanted forest, and covers her decade-long friendship with the same entity despite the limitations of their interactions. Maybe not the best but still solid animation, fairytale characters and a nice story make this anime more than worth watching. An interesting and touching story is told without fireworks and big splashes. Forest and it's spiritual surrounding represent an important part of Japanese culture, whereas this symbol can be found in many anime originated from Japan, but also in other Asian productions and traditions. "Hotarubi No Mori E" is a perfect exemplar why I like Japanese animation so much. Finally, she will unravel the secret behind mysterious Gin who doesn't seem to grow old, but things will never be same again for any of them. Hotaru feels closer to Gin as time passes, while she continues to grow up. Years go by, with each new summer the girl returns to the same enchanted forest looking for this secretive boy. Hotaru is intrigued, and still, she cannot touch him. But there's something mysterious about Gin, and as it seems, he may even be a forest god in a human form. Just when she starts to fear no one would find her, a young man with a mask covering his face appears and shows the way home. A young girl named Hotaru gets lost in the woods during a summer vacation in her uncle's mountain lodge. Some might think that 40 minutes isn't all that long, but in this case, it was more than enough to tell a tale. I had another ending in which I killed off Hotaru and left Gin to suffer but then, I asked myself to not do that."Hotarubi No Mori E" is yet another fine example of Japanese creativity and talent to make a heart warming story. Then on, Gin and Hotaru promise to live together in the forest and just be there. "Do you remember how you died?" Hotaru starts crying and hugs Gin only to go on to kiss him. While leaving the place, Gin takes his face next to Hotaru and says that he loves her. Hotaru and Gin become inseparable during their stay at the festival. Gin notices something but doesn't tell her. Slowly she starts recovering her memories but calls it off as temporary amnesia. They talked about how much she wanted to meet him and just other things. She didn't have any memory as a matter of fact other than those of Gin and her craving to meet him. Hotaru then went back to the forest where Gin was, unaware of what happened to her while reaching there. On the way she had an accident and became a spirit. It'll be continued from when Hotaru left for the forest. Meh I couldn't go on but y'all remember now, don't y'all? Pfft even if you don't I'm done. So anyway, they go together for a festival. Now Hotaru is 14? I'm not sure and also not in the mood to use Google. Then there's something like a time gap to the present. She thought that it'll be good to go and chill there. Gin is the name of the spirit kinda dude who resides in the forest. So let's start! Wait, what? You want a quick briefing? It's been too long since you watched it? Meh very well then I'll hit you with one. Well I'll be now giving in my entry for the #AlternateEnding challenge.įor y'all who didn't watch Hotarubi no mori e, head back before I spoil the life out of the movie for you! I will be simply fan gasming so don't mind me. So here I'm going to fan girl over this wonderful feelsy movie and change a good few genres of it. Guess what?
